Hi everyone! My name is Terre, and I am a wife, mother of 4, Nana of 12, mother of 5 furbabies (2 cats, 2 Rottweilers, & a chihuahua that thinks she is a Rottweiler...LOL), registered nurse and avid crafter! I have loved crafting most of my life, starting with learning to crochet at the age of 10, when my grandmother bought me some yarn and a hook when we were on vacation and taught me to crochet my first ripple afghan. I am always looking for new and different craft mediums!
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2015, and am now disabled. I am in chronic pain and can't get around and do the things I always enjoyed before this all started. I was already working from home as a telephonic nurse-case manager, which was good, since there is no way I could work at the bedside anymore. But as a nurse, I am always researching and when I was diagnosed with fibro, I had to read everything I could find on the condition and try to find ways to improve my pain and state of health. In my research, I found that stress can be a major contributor to the pain. So I decided to go back to my first crafting love, crocheting, to help with relaxation and stress management. It had been years since I had done much crocheting (between raising my children, going to school to get my nursing degree, and eventually working as a nurse in the hospital & in home health, crocheting took a backseat to other priorities), and my skills had, to put it mildly, diminished. But I kept practicing, working on simple things like baby blankets & winter hats (not terribly practical living near Phoenix), then started working on amigurumi, crocheting little stuffed animals. I was hooked (get it...hooked...like crochet hook...LOL!) and spent hours creating cute little critters!!!
One day, I was on Facebook and saw an advertisement for a tutorial course on working with resin. I had already started working on candles, so I had a lot of molds and tools that are used with both candle making and resin crafts. So I decided to check it out. Within a few days, I was on Amazon, ordering resin! I started making little animals, jewelry, coasters, etc. and I was now addicted! I kept trying out new glitters, colors, products...and I do admit to having a terrible addiction to new molds! I didn't give up my crocheting, though...when I couldn't be at my crafting table, I still was able to have my yarn & hooks with me when I watch TV and relax in bed.
My latest addition to my crafting journey is polymer clay, and while I just getting started with it, I have ideas running through my head all the time, coming up with ways to combine resin crafting with polymer clay. So these ideas, once they get past the images in my mind, will soon be products that I will also be adding to my shop here!
I welcome everyone to stop in, browse, say hi, ask questions and enjoy the items that are created with my own hands and with love! And remember, anything you see in my shop are customizable. So if you want a hot pink resin teddy bear or a purple frog with flowers or rainbow colors in its back, just contact me and we can come up with something that will be perfect for what you need!
